Title
High Line Study

Location
New York, NY

Given Manhattan’s High Line designed by James Corner Field Operations as a precedent, my research focused on how this piece of public infrastructure fits into the larger network of circulation in Manhattan. It was important to represent how this repurposed mode of transportation breaks the fabric of the city and performs new artificiality in an already artificial landscape. This artificial landscape is not just felt through architectural interventions but through our understanding of the space, its adjacencies and navigational ease via impressions and experience rather than coordinates. We don’t need to know what the exact address of the Whitney is, but that it’s in between the south end of the High Line and the Standard Hotel.
